Founded September 15, 1969 in Berkeley and expanding to our Alameda location in 1975, we are the oldest and largest Karate school in our cities. WestWind Schools offers three different types of instruction: Martial Arts, Boxing, and a state-registered private school, the WestWind Academy, teaching grades 1 through 12.

WestWind’s Alameda Dojo is a smaller but much-loved facility led by the Iron Butterfly herself, Head Instructor Sensei Krizten Delossantos. More classic in its styling, the Alameda Dojo feels and sounds like a traditional Japanese Karate Dojo. Home to the devastating A-Team, the Alameda dojo is famed for its sportiness, snappy covers, and legions of talented young students.
